Therapuetic Riding & Hippotherapy Program

Body & Spirit is a therapeutic riding, Hippotherapy, and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program.  It combines the love of horses with rehabilitating therapy.  Horseback riding is good for anyone seeking a fun and challenging path to physical and mental wellness.

Body & Spirit is a member of the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) with two NARHA certified instructors.

Body & Spirit is also a member of Equine Assisted Growth and Learning Association (EAGALA) with two EAGALA certified instructors.

Just take a look at what some of our clients and volunteers have to say:

“It’s been MARVELOUS!  Fantastically cognitive!  It has helped my balance and knee.”  Barbara R. (72 years old stroke victim)

“I like the whole experience of riding.  I like the horses, the therapists and helpers.”  Penny F. (36 years old, cerebral palsy)

“When I wonder what good my few hours of volunteering means, its when I see the smiles of the young and the old.  Then I know!”  Marilyn K. (Volunteer Horse Leader)

We have 3 programs a year each lasting 10 sessions.  There are generally 15 to 20 clients in each program.  The program also has 6 wonderful and patient horses that are loaned or owned by the program.
